Ce soir, nos garcons ont participé à leur deuxième soirée de poker pendant que Robert et moi apprenions à jouer au cribage.
Nous avons quand meme profité de la dernière fenetre météo pour aller passer une semaine sur Long Island avec des amis. Nous avons quitté George Town avec 2 autres familles, mais les fenetres météo sont les memes pour tout le monde: ce sont donc une quinzaine de bateaux qui sont arrivés de George Town dans la baie de Thompson. Nous y avons découvert une grotte extraordinaire remplie de chauves-souris. On y a aussi trouvé des stalagtites, des stalagmites, des fossiles de poissons et des araignées qui compétitionnaient en taille avec les chauves-souris! Mais les randonnées à terre se faisaient en fin d'après-midi, puisque les garcons, après l'école, se promenaient derrière l'annexe en biscuit, en planche à genoux et meme en skim board. Robert, lui, s'est contenté de ski nautique.
Notre retour à George Town restera pour nous mémorable. En 2005, durant la traversée de Cape Town en Afrique du Sud au Brésil, l'équipage a endommagé notre spinaker. Nous l'avons fait réparé dès notre retour dans la région de Toronto l'été dernier. Nous avions donc, de Long Island à Great Exuma Island un vent portant parfait: nous avons déployé et affalé le spi à deux reprises. Quel plaisir!
De retour à George Town les enfants retrouvaient des amis perdus depuis l'an dernier et en rencontraient de nouveau avec qui, peut-etre, nous convoierons vers Nassau.
